Healthy Start Pregnancy Resource Specialist
In partnership with Healthy Start, Women’s Health Center is seeking a Pregnancy Resource Specialist. This position is part of a collaborative team that includes physicians and other health care practitioners, Healthy Start, local CCO’s and other community resources. The position is responsible for assisting pregnant patients designated as the highest risk in locating all available resources to help lessen their personal, social and economic hardships and improve their pregnancy outcome.
This position requires the ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, work with minimal supervision and maintain productive relationships with high risk patients, physicians, staff, and community resources. Requires an understanding of motivational interviewing techniques and adult learning strategies. Knowledge of Windows, MS Office (Word & Excel) and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate, both verbally and in writing required.
Bachelor’s degree in public health, social services, health education or psychology is preferred. Minimum two years of experience in a position involving community health education, maternal health education and/or related health services. A Community Health Worker certification is a plus.
