May is International Mediterranean Diet Month

May is International Mediterranean Diet Month

May is International Mediterranean Diet Month. A Mediterranean style diet is a plant-based food plan full of delicious and affordable foods that are low in cholesterol and saturated fats, and high in fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. It also includes lean meats, fish and dairy. Studies have shown the Mediterranean Diet to be one of the most balanced and heart-healthy ways to eat in the world!

The Mediterranean Diet is not a "diet" but a total way of living which can help with weight loss, cholesterol and diabetes risk reduction and improve your heart health! It also embraced activity and enjoying mealtimes with family and friends!

Women's Health Center cares about your health and invites you to visit http://oldwayspt.org/programs/mediterranean-foods-alliance for recipes and other suggestions on how to incorporate the Mediterranean Diet into your life. You'll find it's easy to make small changes to your routine which will bring remarkable health benefits to you and your family. If you have any questions or would like more information we're here to help!
