Dear Patients,
I am excited to introduce expanded options for managing bladder leakage at Women’s Health Center, designed to improve your comfort and quality of life. These procedures may help those who experience incontinence from various causes, including a sensitive bladder or leakage triggered by coughing, sneezing, or laughing. They may be excellent options for those previously ineligible for treatment.
- Botox Injections for a Sensitive Bladder:
For those who suffer from an overactive bladder, Botox injections can help relax the bladder muscles and reduce frequent, urgent, or uncontrollable urges to urinate. This minimally invasive procedure is effective in managing symptoms and improving bladder control. - Urethral Bulking for Leakage with Coughing, Sneezing, or Laughing:
Urethral bulking is a procedure aimed at strengthening the urethra to prevent leakage, especially during physical activities that involve pressure on the bladder (like coughing, sneezing, or laughing). This treatment works by injecting a special material into the urethra (Bulkamid, a water-based gel), helping it close more effectively and reduce urine leakage.
Both of these procedures are designed to be minimally invasive, with most patients returning to regular activities shortly after treatment. I believe they can offer significant relief and help restore confidence for those affected by bladder leakage.
