What is the MonaLisa Touch®?
The MonaLisa Touch® is a gentle laser therapy that delivers controlled energy to the vaginal wall tissue. It generates new collagen, elastin and vascularization in the tissue. Thousands of patients have been treated worldwide since 2012.
For which patients is this treatment appropriate?
The MonaLisa Touch® may be appropriate for any female experiencing issues from a decline in estrogen such as post- menopausal patients, as well as those who are experiencing symptoms as a result of a hysterectomy or certain cancers.
Where can I have this done?
The MonaLisa Touch® is a simple in-office procedure performed by your provider right at Women’s Health Center.
Does the procedure hurt?
The procedure requires no anesthesia. Some patients may experience mild discomfort the first time the probe is inserted, but the actual treatment is not painful. Many patients report feeling a gentle vibration.
How long does it take? When will I see results?
Patients receive three treatments, approximately five minutes each, spaced six weeks apart. Many patients may feel improvement after the very first treatment!
What are my limitations after the procedure is done?
Patients should refrain from sexual activity for 48 hours or physical activity for 3-4 days. Your provider will determine a post-procedure regimen that is right for you.
How long does it last?
Patients may expect to come back in 12 – 18 months for a maintenance treatment.
Will the procedure be covered by insurance?
MonaLisa Touch is not covered by insurance plans at this time. Women’s Health Center patients receive a 20% discount on the treatment series. Our Specialty Scheduler will be able to provide you a quote. Care Credit is accepted for MonaLisa Touch treatments; you may also use your FSA or HSA dollars.
