Women’s Health Center awarded AIUM Accreditation

The Ultrasound Practice Accreditation Council of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine has announced that Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon has been awarded ultrasound practice accreditation in the areas of Obstetrics and Gynecologic Ultrasound. Women’s Health Center is only one of two practices in all of southern Oregon with this prestigious accreditation.

Women’s Health Center achieved this recognition by meeting rigorous voluntary guidelines set by the diagnostic ultrasound profession. All facets of the practice were assessed, including the training and qualifications of physicians and sonographers; ultrasound equipment maintenance; documentation; storage and record-keeping practices; policies and procedures to protect patients and staff; quality assurance methods; and the thoroughness, technical quality and interpretation of the sonograms the practice performs.

The Center was last accredited in 2010, effective for three years.

“One of our core values is to provide excellent, compassionate care that fulfills the needs of the women in our community”, says Lisa Solomon, Executive Director of Women’s Health Center of Southern Oregon. “We often voluntarily seek to meet more stringent standards, such as this AIUM accreditation, in order to ensure we are offering our patients the absolute best care available to them.”

The AIUM is a medical association of more than 9900 physicians, sonographers and scientists dedicated to advancing the safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine through professional and public education, research and accreditation. For more information, visit www.aium.org

Women's Health Center providers brought 63 new babies into the world in the month of September, bringing the total number of deliveries so far in 2013 to 529 new bundles of joy!

Our patients kept our doctors busy in August!  76 new boys and girls were welcomed into the world in the month of August. For 2013, 466 babies have been born to moms who have had Women's Health Center care for the during their pregnancy.

July was a busy month for little baby boys and girls. The doctors at Women's Health Center delivered 60 bundles of joy!Congratulations to all new moms, dads and families!

So far in 2013, 390 babies have been welcomed and delivered by Women's Health Center physicians.

The providers at Women's Health Center delivered 61 baby girls and boys  in June.  Half way through 2013, 330 babies have been born to patients of Women's Health Center!

Women's Health Center providers brought 52 new babies into the world in the month of May, bringing the total number of deliveries so far in 2013 to 269 new bundles of joy!

Women's Health Center of Southern Oregon has always been the place to go for women's health care. Now, we have expanded our services and are offering physician-administered cosmetic procedures and a line of prescription-only skin care products.

Dr. Marlene Covey, who is an OB/GYN physician at Women's Health Center, also specializes in skin care. She will evaluate your skin, consider your personal goals and advise you on a treatment plan.
